What can I find in the Archives ?

The ECHS contains a substantial archive facility, including:

Photographs
Maps & atlases
Obituaries
Newspaper clippings
Books & Yearbooks
Court records
City directories
And much more!

Founded in 1984, the Archives’ holdings contain information about the people, places,

 and events pertinent to Ellis County. From photographs to record books to newspaper

articles, the Archives has information dating from the 1860s to the present.

The Archives is staffed by an archivist, an archives assistant, volunteers, and interns that

are available to aid patrons in research. Photocopies and scans of archival holdings can

be made at the patron's request for a fee.
